I'm giving Shari's a two star rating because of our horrible experience here. On a whim, after opening Christmas gifts, we decided to go to Shari's. It's not what we usually do, but we went. My two older kids often go on Sundays with my mom and they always say the food is fine and the service is friendly. It wasn't particularly busy on Christmas. We waited 10 minutes and were seated. It took 20 minutes for someone to take our order. The coffee was awful, and I am typically ok with diner coffee. Half of our meals had arrived and my husband was just having toast and coffee. The toast was rock hard and cold. My hash browns were cold, not even room temperature, but cold. I poked my finger into the gravy on my country friend steak, to check the temp and there was no trace left on my finger as I had just poked some gelatinous substance that was also cold. The kids waffles and eggs were cold. I sent my husband's toast, my meal, and my niece's eggs, back. We said no thank you to it being replaced. The kids were starving so they began to eat their waffles, which were cold! My mom had fish and chips and my brother had steak and stuffed hash browns. By now we'd been here an hour, my mom, brother, and the kids were just taking the first bites of their meals. Three times my brother tried to get our waitress so that we might all have water. An hour later. Every time she rudely disregarded him. When she did come, she was annoyed at the water request and wanted to know who wanted water. Isn't is standard to bring water for everyone? After the rude exchange we decided we'd rather not finish our meal there, well those of us who had meals. My brother went to politely speak with the manager, he was blatantly rude. In all honestly, the waitress and the manager both appeared and acted tacky, and had trashy dispositions. I don't expect a lot from a dinky little chain like Shari's, just warm food and some common courtesy, neither of which were present at this location. My mom also decided the experience was so negative that she'd find a new Sunday spot to take her grandkids to for their weekly breakfast together. Don't waste your time here. Travel slightly farther up or down 99 and stop at Biscuits or Davidson's, instead.

I'm giving it 3 stars as I was torn between 5 & 1. We've eaten here several times and found it splendid. Great breakfasts and lunches. Always good service. However, we were sucked into trying the Friday evening "prime rib" dinner. They advertise it all over the place and have pictures of beautiful hunks of pink prime rib slices. Bait & switch comes to mind although I supposed someone could loosely construe that item on my plate to be "prime rib." I ordered medium rare (I like it pretty pink) and my husband ordered medium well (he's not so fond of the pink). At any rate, when it came I miraculously concealed the surprised look on my face and smiled. The item on my plate was not more than 1/4" thick and brown brown brown all the way through. In fact, the one my husband ordered looked eggzackly the same. The one moment of amusement was when the waiter brought them out and made a show of holding them up so he could see them and saying "rare" and placing one in front of me and then saying "well" and placing the other one before him. We laughed and laughed. Also, there was no hint of a vegetable or salad which I imagine could have been had for extra $$. But just naked piece of some kind of meat and a baked potato. So, my recommendation is go there for anything but their "prime rib" & you'll be happy.

Sparkling clean kitchen and hot food that looked like the pictures off the menu. Never have I encountered a Shari's this nice. Drove past two Shari's just to eat at this one.

This place as great! The best part was the very helpful waitstaff, who went out of their way to make everyone's experience great. We saw an older lady crying at her table, and the waitress went and comforted her. Food was solid American diner food. It was served quickly and with a smile. We'd definitely come back again when driving through the area and needing a food break.

This is the second time I've been to Portland and the second time I've come here. Damn, the breakfast food is awesome. You can have eggs, bacon ... blah blah blah but the pancakes are to die for. No, really ... I like pancakes -- I mean, they're okay. But the ones here are really spectacular. It was definitely a happy ending to my turkey omelette with eggs whites and fruit. YUM! Why can't we have Shari's in LA???

I have never heard of this place before but it is rather close to my boyfriend's place. I ordered a Minestrone Soup because I was really cold and it was only 99 cents. It was perfect with just a little salt but my fish and chips were unbelievable. I can tell why this place is known for their pies and with my fish and chips they gave a considerably large piece of cornbread. It was so moist it melted right in your mouth like butter I didn't even like cornbread. The place was cozy and comfortable. The people were very friendly and welcoming. I know I will be arriving soon and possibly get myself a slice of pecan pie.

I came for a breakfast while leaving Tigard and on my way to Medford. I needed a place for a quick, fairly delicious meal where I wouldn't have to worry about whether it would be open early in the morning or not. I took a chance after reading the yelp reviews and was pretty pleased with the results. The waitresses were all extremely friendly. The restaurant was very large, looked pretty nice for what it is (which is really, as other people have said, a few notches above Denny's/Ihop). I ordered a pastrami hash and my mom ordered one of the omelettes. I thought both were very good, thankfully not excessively greasy. Very responsive service and I felt like the chefs took more care than other fast food breakfast joints do. I can't see myself being in Tigard, OR again in the future, so I can't say that I'll be visiting again, but I would recommend it for any other travelers out there who want a quick, satisfying meal before embarking on a trip

"What's a King City? I am in King City? Wow. Why? Oh whatever, they have pie? I like pie!" Not only do they have pie, they have good pie! They even had mince pie, which I have only found at the beaverton bakery. And, might I add, they serve a damn fine cup of coffee. So if you're feeling all agent Dale Cooper like I was, go down to Shari's and get yourself two nice, hot cups of coffee and a piece of pie. I'm glad I did. Hey, were is the good pie in Portland? Off to google!

This is for the Shari's on 99W in King City Oregon. My sister and I stopped there last Friday night (5/31/13) to get a bite to eat. We thought we would share a order of Pork Nachos for $8.95. I asked the waitress if they were any good and she said "oh yes" When the order came out there was a large pile of chips with about a eighth cup of cheese under some guacamole. The pork, or what was there of it, was in the middle. At first we could not see any, what we found would not have filled a tablespoon!! What we had here was a pile of dry chips with so little of ANYTHING on it that we told the waitress very nicely that we would not be eating this and please take it back. (I was not going to pay $9:00 for a pile of dry chips)The manerger came over and said everything is pre measure and that was how they serve it!! "WOW" we have watched this place get worse and worse, with less and less food on smaller and smaller plates that would not fill up a three year old!! We will NEVER be back! But this manerger acted like she did not give a hoot if we ever came back or not!

My son loves their milkshakes. They are HUGE. Standard "chain" restaurant food but their Angus burger is better than others I've tried.

This was the go to late night spot in high school! Go THS! haha anywho - great place for breakfast foods. Shari's is the epitome of breakfast diner. Nice large portions, greasy food, big menu, decent service, bland coffee.. what more could you want!

Shari's used to be my go-to place after a night at the bar; but no longer a barfly, now I only go for breakfast when I'm too lazy to cook. I like that you can get breakfast anytime, and the food, service, quality, is always consistent. They are always open too. Last week I had dinner at Shari's for the first time. It was surprisingly very good! I had a chipotle chicken sandwich. The server was attentive, friendly, and funny, and the shakes and pies are really fantastic too!

Up until my last visit here on 7/22/2015. I would of happily given this location 5 out of 5 stars, but this last visit was absolutely abysmal. We got seated rather quickly no problems there. Our orders were taken promptly, and drinks were brought out. A good 10-15 minutes pass and we had ordered an appetizer. We asked about where are appetizer was and the waitress informed us "that it would be coming soon." After another good 10 minute wait we finally received our entrees, but never did see our appetizer we ordered. So we asked again why we had not seen our appetizer but we managed on getting our entrees? Our waitress then responded with " Oh the cook staff are overwhelmed." She then walked away. I happened to look over and see our appetizer sitting in the pick up window, and our waitress left it up there until we were completely done with our entrees. Once we were done she brought it over and offered to bring us plates. I then informed her I would like a box and to speak to her manager. She then brought me the box and said she couldn't find her manager.

Dear Shari's, Where to begin. I've been into this restaurant a few times and while it's always been pleasant the food quality seems to have take a dice in the last year. I this visit, I ordered the biscuit and gravy special which came with an egg and bacon. Firstly, by no stretch of the imagination does "fresh baked biscuit" mean "baked when fresh made, but microwaved just before serving." What a HUGE disappointment. I'd rather chew on card board then have that again. The bacon was so thinly sliced I could fold it into fourths and it was still thinner than similar restaurants serve. It was so thin in fact, that I ate cautiously so as to keep from getting a papercut on my tongue! The meal came out in 5 minutes. Which contrary to popular restaurant belief, not all food needs to be fast. I'd rather have waited another 10 minutes for a truly FRESH baked biscuit and a slice of bacon that actually existed in the 3rd dimension. Service was good and server was nice is not overly talkative. I'm going down the street to Biscuits Cafe now in a desperate attempt to sate my fresh buscuit craving.

Great diner food for the outside-of-Portland nocturnal crowd. Burgers and shakes are the highlights.

So I would call this place a Denny's (or Big Boy - whichever you prefer) with beer service. I only had one pie, and it was good, though I think it would have been a lot better if it was warmed up - but it wasn't thus (and therefore) it didn't reach maximal potential. Again, if you like Denny's or Big Boy's you'll like this place.
